Technocrat

Tomasz, software engineer from Poland but working remotely some of the time. First of all, thank you for reading my blog. It’s such a pleasure to have you here!

A couple of words about my professional life: I graduated from (but my brain was not broken..) Silesian University of Technology in Poland and Ludwig-Maximilians Universität München - Duales Studium Wirtschaftsmathematik in Germany. At universities I discovered how empowering it can be to build applications and thus built several smaller and bigger applications in different programming languages, domains and platforms from industrial solutions for Volkswagen A.G. to financial solutions for traders in hedge fund.

I must admit that Wirtschaftsmathematik shown me how synergies could be strong and valuable which impacts on my not only professional life.

Values and Mission - 落后就要挨打

My life is divided into two parts:

  • before awareness what Web3 in practical life means

  • after awareness what Web3 means

…the journey was really long, from Germany to Asia, many people helped me in many ways, in the future I will describe here more.. currently I just want to mention that I do my best to inform and explain completely free what Web3 means by organizing meetups Silesia Blockchain Meetup

Rules I live by keep me level-headed:

  • Fast, lift, sprint, stretch, and meditate.
  • Build, sell, write, create, invest, and own.
  • Read, reflect, love, seek truth, and ignore society.
  • Make these habits.
  • Learn history. Say no to everything else.
  • Avoid debt, jail, addiction, disgrace, shortcuts, and media.

Sleep well. Relax. Victory (not easy, because of with awareness..) is assured. If you are backward you will take a beating.

Passions beyond software engineering

  1. Economy, monetary policies
  2. Psychology, team and relationships building
  3. History, yeaa the point needs more explanation
  4. Art and classic music during sauna
  5. Practising just doing nothing, exactly noting and sleep well ;-)
  6. Philosophy like Ayn Rand, Michel de Montaigne, Michel Foucault or Nassim Nicholas Taleb
  7. Chinese language(s) - I started the journey..
  • The role of history in my life

Well, I would say in that way: I am a man which is mostly driven by history, I do higly respect the history, for Polish readers you can follow my notes, date by date:

Notes on History by Tomek (Polish language)

Profesionally currently I am driven mostly by those two quotes and higly recommend to take consideration them by you, too:

I think there is a world market for maybe five computers. Thomas Watson, president of IBM, 1943

and the quote regarding surveillance capitalism

As the historian Karl Polanyi describes it, the double movement was integrated into the capitalist system to make sure that the institutions involved weren’t harming labor, land, and money. Polanyi, like Adam Smith and other economists before him, recognized that capitalism contained potentially destructive tendencies. Unchecked greed and power-mongering can have devastating effects, and the double movement was designed specifically to counteract these tendencies.

What I can offer you

I organize private workshops on those three subjects:

  1. Surveillance Capitalism
  2. Digital Economy and Transformation
  3. Security in Digital Economy

The first workshop is focused on new form of capitalism - surveillance capitalism, I explain the history, many, many practical best practices how to cope with that.

Digital Economy and Transformation - I talk about the subject on many layers:

  • business layer
  • social layer (adulthood crisis etc.)
  • private debt cycle

I do my best to make the workshops personal for every individual, about every atendee I think as an individual person.

You like (or hate) my content or speech? Here are a couple ways to contact me and say “Hello” ;-)

I wanted to learn Gatsby and React and but also have antifragile place in the Internet where I can write something in my free(?) time - that is why the “Tomek Writes” was born. That way, I hope that I can help other to learn the things that I have learned (somethime in really hard way) by myself.

I can not deny that the page is an investment of my time and energy which I spent on coding it in many, many places and continents like: Poland, Germany, Asia etc. etc.

If you appreciate what I am doing, there are several ways to support me, furthermore it may help me to dedicate more time to focus on given subject:

  1. Be proactive

  2. Send me a meesage where my thinging and/or sentence is wrong

  3. Send me interesting idea, hint, recording, podcast, history analogy, book, movie etc.

  4. Just say “Thanks, I like XYZ”

  5. …or say…”You are stupid because XYZ” - be meritoric here

  6. Share, if you want there is also a way to donate

  7. If you are native mandarin, let mne know..#help #help #itisnoteasy

Religion

Some people which meets with me around the world asks “What is your religion?” and the answer is correlated with available time, shortly speaking:

I am NOT atheist.

..really like following quote:

Believing in God is less about the scientifically untestable idea that some omnipotent creator exists. It’s more about not being arrogant enough to reject there’s something more we can’t fully understand. And there is some wisdom in these ancient stories we ignore at our peril.

I do recommend reading following papal encyclics:

Quote that I DO like

Give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others. Christian D. Larson

Puzzle (-;

Guess why I really like the painting in front of the page and what does mean.

Let’s all be secure on the Internet!
